Hello World!

Hello, friends, and welcome to Brown Family Homestead!
My name is Miko, and I am so excited to share this journey with you. At 50 years young, I am embracing a dream that has been growing in my heart for years—a simpler, more intentional life centered around family, faith, homegrown food, and self-sufficiency.
Like many people, I started this journey wanting to know exactly where my food comes from and how I could provide healthier meals for my family. What began as a small interest in gardening quickly blossomed into a passion for homesteading, canning, preserving, cooking from scratch, crafting, and learning the old-fashioned skills that our grandparents once relied on every day.
Brown Family Homestead is a place where I’ll share both my successes and my mistakes as I learn and grow. Whether you’re a seasoned homesteader or just planting your very first seed, I hope you’ll find inspiration, encouragement, and practical tips here.

On this blog, you’ll find:
🍓 Gardening adventures and lessons learned
🥫 Food preservation, canning, and pantry-building
🥘 Home-cooked family recipes
🐓 Future homestead projects and livestock plans
🧶 Crafts, DIY projects, and handmade treasures
🥰 Tips for creating a simpler, more sustainable lifestyle

My goal is not perfection. My goal is progress, learning, and building a legacy for future generations. I believe that knowledge is power, and every new skill we learn brings us one step closer to greater independence and confidence.
Thank you for stopping by and becoming part of our homestead family. Grab a cup of coffee or sweet tea, stay awhile, and join me as we grow, preserve, create, and build the homestead life one day at a time.

Welcome home.
With gratitude,
Brown Family Homestead
